Rebecca was admitted as a solicitor in 2006 and has been part of the Baker Love Lawyers team since 2008. She has extensive experience in Employment Law, and also practices in the areas of Civil Litigation, Building and Construction Law, Intellectual Property, and Commercial and Business Law.

Rebecca has a keen interest in Migration Law.

Rebecca is a Registered Migration Agent (MARN 1174712), and was attracted to Migration Law because of its complexity and increasing importance in Australian society.  She saw the opportunity to combine Migration Law with her other passion, Employment Law, by assisting employers seeking to hire employees from overseas.

In order to further her skills in Migration Law, Rebecca recently commenced a Graduate Certificate in the Australian Migration Law and Practice course through the Australian National University.

Not all Registered Migration Agents are Lawyers.  Registered Migration Agents are only required to undertake a short course about Australian Migration Law in order to become qualified, and once they are qualified there is no requirement for them to work under supervision for any period of time.  Even the Department of Immigration and Citizenship has suggested that the level of professionalism amongst Registered Migration Agents could be higher.
