Baker Love Lawyers plays an energetic part in the legal and wider community, and always has.From the Firm’s origins in 1875 through to today, Baker Love Lawyers has been an active and valued member of the communities it serves.

All team members are encouraged to participate in and contribute their time, support and expertise toward causes that they feel passionate about, with support filtering down from the management level.

At Baker Love Lawyers, we support the premise that what is important to our employees at a community level is also important to Baker Love Lawyers. As such, many Baker Love Lawyers partners, lawyers and fellow employees volunteer their time to community-based organisations. Baker Love Lawyers is a strong supporter of the view that both the community and the firm benefits from building a strong and significant community affiliation.

We have participated in and supported many community events.

Baker Love Lawyers regularly participates in legal and community events, whether it be presenting seminars on legal topics of interest, for example on retirement and elder law, to supporting various events such as local triathlons and City2Surf. The involvement of our team members includes participation and support.

We aim to assist underprivileged members of the community.

For several years, the solicitors at Baker Love Lawyers have freely given their time to assist underprivileged members of the community at the Salvation Army Charity Wills Days. This is an annual event that Baker Love Lawyers freely gives its time to, usually involving three to four solicitors.

We have also volunteered for the Red Shield Appeal, in the Salvation Army’s annual door knock appeal.

Baker Love Lawyers prides itself on having an active involvement in the community.

Partner, Terry Morgan, founded the Wallsend-Maryland Rotary Club and was for many years an active member of that Club. Terry has freely given his time to many local community members who have benefitted from his time and advice, free of charge. One of our solicitors, Rebecca McKenzie, now regularly attends Wallsend-Maryland Rotary Club meetings and provides assistance and support with various community initiatives, such as the Wallsend-Maryland Rotary Markets.

Terry is now on the Board of Directors at Wallsend Diggers RSL Club. The Firm also supports various fundraising events, such as Prostate Cancer research and supporting the RSPCA Hunter, by way of contribution of time, support and donations.

Several members of our team also donate blood products to the Australian Red Cross Blood Service on a regular basis, which they see as a very worthwhile, simple process.

Our team is encouraged to engage in sporting and recreational activities of choice.

At Baker Love Lawyers we consider that a healthy work – life balance is essential in ensuring a well-rounded service.

For many years, Partner Bruce Hurrell has been actively involved with the Newcastle Golf Club, having been a past Director for approximately 12 years. Consultant Hura Herman has been actively involved with the Newcastle & District Tennis Association. Partners Terry Morgan and Dean Frith are actively involved in various local cricket clubs as well as rugby league associations.
